Twice is Nice for John Wes Townley in Texas

John Wes Townley touts the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway as one of his favorite tracks on the NASCAR circuit; he posted his best finish on the Fort Worth, TX track of fifth-place in the spring NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event.

For the fall event Townley will pilot both the No. 05 Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra Friday, October 31, 2014 in the running of the WinStar World Casino and Resort 350 and the No. 25 Zaxby’s Athenian Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Series Camry Saturday, November 1, 2014 in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge.

Townley has two prior NASCAR Nationwide Series starts with a best finish of 18th in 2009 and seven prior Camping World Truck Series starts on the intermediate sized track just outside of Dallas, Texas.

“I’m looking forward to Texas,” John Wes Townley said.  “It is really one of my favorite racetracks.  I’m excited to be running both in the Camping World Trucks and in the Nationwide Series there.  I think there is some advantage driving in two series.  Despite the differences in weight and body style, there is a lot of knowledge of the track itself to be gained.  If tires are wearing on the truck, then you know they will be wearing on the car and it helps with the lines of the track, where everyone is running, will most likely be where they are running in both races.  I know that the Athenian Motorsports guys have been working hard back at the shop to make both these Zaxby’s Toyotas fast.  Hopefully, I’ll top that fifth place finish from the spring Friday in the truck and then repeat it in the Nationwide car on Saturday.”

The WinStar World Casino and Resort 350 Camping World Truck Series race is slated to begin at 8:00pm Friday, October 31, 2014 on Fox Sports 1 and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge NASCAR Nationwide Series race will begin at 2:00pm and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
