Timothy Peters drove the No. 17 Toyota Tundra to a fourth-place finish in the UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. The Red Horse Racing team demonstrated their speed in the heat of the day posting the fifth and second-quickest times during the two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice sessions. They easily moved to the final round of qualifying where they posted the seventh-fastest speed around the 1.5-mile race track. When the green flag was displayed, Peters drove into the top five within 15 laps, where he remained for the majority of the 150-lap event. He reported to crew chief Marcus Richmond that the red and white machine was tight on the exits of Turns 2 and 4. Richmond called for slight air pressure and chassis adjustments during the three routine yellow and green-flag pit stops. Although the handling remained a little tight, Peters was able to maintain fast speeds around the Sparta, Kentucky facility to take the checkered flag in the fourth position and earn his fourth top-five finish of the 2014 season. Peters moved to third in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship point standings, 11 points behind the leader.

“We were just a little too tight tonight to really get in there and challenge for the win with our Toyota Tundra. We worked on a few different options during practice, and went a little more conservative than we probably needed to. Fortunately, I can drive a tight truck around here [Kentucky Speedway] a lot better than I can a loose one. Every week we are figuring out more and more. It’s not a bad night when you can leave the track disappointed with a fourth-place finish. We gained a little ground in the (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship) points tonight and we are heading to Iowa (Speedway) with some good momentum.”
