Susie’s Hope On Board… Dakoda Armstrong’s charity of choice, Susie’s Hope, will be riding on the bed of the No. 60 WinField Silverado this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. Based in nearby Greensboro, North Carolina, Susie’s Hope was founded by Donna Lawrence, owner of a Pit Bull mix named Susie. Found in a park after she was severely abused, Susie was saved and adopted by Lawrence. Together they’ve set out to educate the public and stop animal cruelty; inspiring the largest grassroots movement for animals in North Carolina in 2010. Susie’s supporters campaigned to state legislators to stop animal cruelty, and Susie’s Law was passed in 2011. The law now serves jail time to those convicted of animal abuse crimes in NC. The duo continues to take their story around the state and nationwide, helping educate people of all ages about the proper care of animals and most recently producing a movie to tell their story.

“We’ve had a good relationship with Susie’s Hope and I’m happy to have them on board with us at Martinsville,” Armstrong noted. “We’re racing close to home for them, and this is a great opportunity to help them raise awareness and continue building support for their cause. They’ve done a great job educating the public on proper treatment of animals and have helped so many in the process. I’m really looking forward to the movie they’ve just produced as well. I’ve always been an animal lover, so I’m proud to work with them and be a part of something that makes a difference.”

RCR Fan Fest… This Thursday, October 24, Richard Childress Racing will host the public at its Welcome, North Carolina facility for its 2013 Fan Fest. Fans will have the opportunity to meet RCR drivers, including Armstrong, for a special autograph session. Armstrong will be signing from 11am-12 pm. Wristbands for the autograph session will be distributed at 9:00 am on a first-come-first-served basis. RCR will also provide fans with shops tours, pit crew demonstrations and interactive displays. This Weekend’s WinField Silverado… Chassis No. 016 will make its third career appearance on track this weekend at Martinsville Speedway with Armstrong behind the wheel. Utilized most recently by Wauters Motorsports at Dover earlier this season, this Silverado led four laps before an on-track incident left driver Tim George, Jr. with a 25th-place finish.

Previous Race Recap: Talladega… Traveling to Talladega Superspeedway for the final restrictor plate race of the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season, Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 60 WinField team were prepped for the unpredictable racing that would unfold on Saturday afternoon. A previous winner at the 2.66-mile track, Armstrong carried an extra boost of confidence into the fred’s 250 powered by Coca-Cola. Battling for the win coming out of the final turn, his hopes of visiting Victory Lane were dashed with a multi-truck incident on the front stretch, leading him to a fifth-place finish

“We had one of our best runs of the year at Martinsville this Spring, so I’m really looking forward to heading back this weekend. I’ve always enjoyed short track racing and grew up on it in Indiana, so as long as we can survive and stay out of trouble, I think we’ll be able to pull off another good showing.”
