James Buescher NCWTS Preview: Kentucky Speedway

How Sweep It Is…James Buescher returns to the track where he swept both NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races last season. These two wins counted as number two and four en route to his the four wins he earned in his NCWTS championship season. Buescher comes into Kentucky fifth in points and looking for his first top-five finish of 2013.

The Eagle has Landed…Turner Scott Motorsports welcomes back Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) to the NCWTS. For the first time this season, F.O.E. will be featured on the No. 31 truck at Kentucky Speedway. The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization, which unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills, and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope. The F.O.E. was founded in 1898 by six theatre owners gathered in a Seattle shipyard to discuss a musician’s strike. After addressing the matter, they agreed to “bury the hatchet” and form “The Order of Good Things.” As numbers grew, members changed the name to “The Fraternal Order of Eagles.” Presently, F.O.E. membership is almost one million strong, with more than 1,700 local aeries in the U.S. and Canada. Women’s auxiliaries total more than 1,500, with more than 335,000 members. Among its many accomplishments, the F.O.E. counts the founding of Mother’s Day and esteemed members include seven former U.S. Presidents.

Chassis Info…Turner Scott Motorsports will bring chassis TSM- 222 with them this weekend to Kentucky Speedway. This particular chassis last saw action last season at Homestead-Miami Speedway, with Kyle Larson behind the wheel, and at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Nelson Piquet Jr. drove it to the victory.

Texas Recap…Coming from the back of the pack for the second week in a row, Buescher was looking like a dark horse that could steal the win at his home track of Texas Motor Speedway. Buescher was forced to start from the back of the 32-truck field after his team decided to be safe and change their carburetor after finding an issue following qualifying impound. Buescher and the Ruud team had their work cut out for them during the 167-lap event. Once the green flag fell, Buescher wasted no time in picking his way through the pack and found himself battling for a top-five running spot much of the event. After a late-race caution, the handling on the No. 31 Ruud Chevrolet went away, but Buescher hung on for his third top-ten finish of 2013, coming home in ninth.

James Buescher on returning to Kentucky Speedway

“Kentucky Speedway is one of my favorite tracks for obvious reasons. We had dominating runs there last year, and I hope we can come back and continue that trend this weekend and get our F.O.E. team back on track.”
