After a solid day, Grant Enfinger was able to grab the top spot from Austin Hill due to his strong final restart from the fourth position in overtime. This is his second win of the season, and the fourth of this career. It was also the first win for Ford at Atlanta Motor Speedway. 

“Man, first of all, Chis Lambert said it perfectly over the radio. This race was won at the shop. We didn’t have the best truck on the long-run, but we had the best truck on the short-run, I feel like. The good Lord was looking out for us. It’s just a special weekend. Congratulations to my grandparents. They’re celebrating their seventieth wedding anniversary. I’m sorry we couldn’t be there. Man, this one is for them. This one really means a lot,” Enfinger said. 

Though Enfinger Won the race, it was Kyle Busch who captured both stage one and two wins. The second stage victory marked his fifth straight stage win at Atlanta. 

Of the 200-mile race’s handful of accident-related cautions leading up to the checkered flag, the first appeared on lap two with Bryan Dauzat spinning on the backstretch. Additionally, Dauzat brought out the second caution, as his tire went down on lap 13. This also served as the competition caution. Stage one later concluded on lap 30. While pitting prior to the next stage, Matt Crafton and John Hunter Nemechek made contact. 

The only caution of the second stage came with 79 to go due to a spin from Austin Wayne Self.

Many trucks began pitting under green with 34 to go in the final stage. This brought trouble for two NASCAR Cup Series stars. Chase Elliott carried too much speed while trying to get to pit road, which forced him to pit a lap later and resulted in some lost time on the rest of the field. Meanwhile, Busch collected a speeding penalty during his stop, and he made contact with the wall shortly after, as he tried to avoid Jordan Anderson on the track. Busch pitted to repair his damage under green and obtained a second speeding penalty. 

The only caution of the final stage came with three laps to go, as Elliott spun around. This caution forced a restart under NASCAR overtime.

Surviving the duration of the 130-lap race allowed Hill to finish second, trailing only by 0.215 seconds, after leading 36 straight laps at his home track. Christian Eckes was third, and Todd Gilliland was fourth. Zane Smith rounded out the top-five with another solid finish following his third place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  

The trucks will be back in action in just one short week. The tour’s next race will be on Saturday, June 13 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Coverage of the race can be found on FS1 at 12:30 PM.

At the end of the 300 lap race around the “World’s Fastest Half Mile,” Noah Gragson ultimately reigned supreme after making contact with his teammate Allgaier in the late laps of the race.  Gragson finished just ninth at the track last year. This victory marks Gragson’s second win of the 2020 season. 

“I really apologize to Justin and the 7 team. That’s not how I want to race. The track was like ice out there. We were slipping and sliding,” Gragson said of his win. “Man, I’m worn out. It’s Bristol baby,” said Gragson.

Behind Gragson was Chase Briscoe, who trailed by roughly three tenths of a second. Brandon Jones, Harrison Burton, and Myatt Snider rounded up the remainder of the top-five. 

Thunder Valley delivered in both close racing and cautions. The first caution appeared on lap six, when Ross Chastain made contact with Austin Cindric. Michael Annett was also collected in the accident. Then, the competition caution arrived on lap 35. Lap 65 brought the final caution of the first stage on account of debris from Joe Nemechek’s race car. After passing Burton on lap 47, Gragson was able to hold off Allgaier for the stage one win. 

The next 85 laps brought another handful of cautions. The first popped up on lap 102 as Timmy Hill spun and collected Vinnie Miller. On lap 124, AJ Allmendinger spun, bringing out the sixth yellow of the evening. Patrick Emerling was the cause of the caution just eighteen laps later, after contact from behind; this contact brought an end to his Xfinity Series debut. Ultimately, the roles were reversed from those in stage one, and Allgaier held off his teammate, Gragson, to come first in stage two. 

Tommy Joe Martins’ spin ushered in the first caution of the last stage on lap 223. Immediately after the restart on lap 215, Justin Haley and Riley Herbst collided to bring out yet another yellow flag. Colby Howard collected some damage from this incident. The eleventh caution of the night came with thirteen laps to go as Howard hit the wall with two flat tires. The last caution came as Gragson made contact with Allgaier with only five laps to go, which led to Allgaier’s spin. 

Not only was the race at the The Last Great Colosseum intense, but it also acted as the qualifier for the Dash for Cash initiative. The top four finishers of the Xfinity Series regulars qualified for the next event at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where they will compete for a $100,000 bonus. These drivers are as follows: Noah Gragson, Chase Briscoe, Brandon Jones, and Harrison Burton.

After a grueling 600-mile race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, drivers had an unexpected extra day of rest due to extensive rain from Tropical Storm Bertha. Despite the Alsco Uniforms 500 taking place a day late, Elliott returned to the track and capitalized at the end of the 310.6-mile race. 

Aside from an impressive win after his pass on Harvick, Elliott was able to break his streak of bad luck. Elliott was taken out by Kyle Busch at Darlington, when it appeared as though he was a contender to win. Then, as he was leading the Coca-Cola 600, the caution flag flew, and his competitors stayed out on the track as he pitted. Thus, Elliott seemed incredibly relieved to improve upon his second place finish from Sunday. 

 “It’s been a tough week for sure. That deal on Sunday night was a heartbreaker. It’s not the 600, but it’s a win,” Elliott said of the victory. “I was just waiting for the caution to come out to be honest with you. I surely did not think it was going to go green until the end,” said Elliott.

As far as cautions went, the first one appeared rapidly in turn four during lap 1 as contact was made between Joey Gase and Garrett Smithley. Just shortly after, the competition caution followed on lap 20. During their pit stops, William Byron and Corey LaJoie had a minor collision. A few laps after going green, both Matt Kenseth and Brad Keselowski cut a tire on lap 29, which brought out the third caution. Lightning entered the area immediately after, generating a red flag. 

Once the cars were back on the oval, the remainder of stage one was completed with no cautions. The first caution in stage 2 came on lap 74 when Quin Houff was tapped by Brennan Poole, which led him to make contact with the wall. With 64 laps left, the yellow flag flew for the final time for Timmy Hill. 

Though it was Elliott that came out on top, Hamlin managed to finish second. The remainder of the top-five consisted of  Ryan Blaney, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Kurt Busch. Of the top-five, three of them were Chevrolets. Notably, the stage one winner, Joey Logano, finished sixth. Meanwhile, Alex Bowman took home stage two, and a thirty-first place finish after making contact with the wall in the final stage.

Luckily, the NASCAR Cup Series will be back in action in just three short days at Bristol Motor Speedway. Catch all the action from Thunder Valley on Sunday, May 30 at 3:30 PM on FS1.

Though Quin Houff is often traveling to racetracks across the United States to compete in the Nascar Cup Series, he traces his roots back to the small town of Weyers Cave found in Augusta County, VA. In order to connect back with his local fans, Houff opted to participate in the Town of Bridgewater’s Virtual Town Hall Series, since Bridgewater is another quaint town only twenty minutes from his own. 

Through the meeting on Zoom, local citizens were able to ask Houff questions about his Nascar career. As of now, Houff has fifty professional career starts in three years. Racing at the top level was something Houff dreamed of from his humble beginnings of go-karting and competing at the local level. 

On the call, the Weyers Cave native discussed his humble start, mentioning how he played baseball in Grottoes and noticed a go-kart track behind the batting cage. This immediately sparked his interest, and by the time he was nine, he was racing at Shenandoah Speedway, his local racetrack. This is where his career really grew. In fact, Houff said this was the point where his dad looked at him and said, “Well, I don’t know what I’m doing with all this racing stuff right now, so you’re on your own.” 

From there, he raced at South Boston, ran the whole CARS Super Late Model Series schedule in 2015, and ran one ARCA race at Daytona in 2017. The following year, he ran four more ARCA races. However, 2017 was most memorable for Houff due to his two Xfinity Series starts with Precision Performance Motorsports. Five more Xfinity starts followed in 2018, as he raced part-time with JD Motorsports. 

His Cup Series racing began in 2019, where he ran the No. 77 on a part-time basis for Spire Motorsports. Now, he races full-time in the No. 00 for Starcom Racing. Of this new start, Houff said, “Even though we’ve only run a handful of races together, I am excited to work with this team, since it’s only their third full season in the Cup Series. We’re starting to work the kinks out. There are a lot of hurdles along the way that you wouldn’t expect. It’s a lot of money, and you have to make a lot of great connections with those sponsors, which is what we have really been working on doing.”

For the time being, Houff has been enjoying his time at home, while looking forward to the future. “I’ve enjoyed spending my time in my hometown with my wife and staying connected to everybody through means like Zoom. I’ve been trying to learn how these simulators work, since I recently got mine from Sim Seats. I’m ready to get back to real racing, and I’m especially excited to race at Bristol and Martinsville this year, since they aren’t too far from home. For now, I just want everyone to stay safe out there, and NASCAR will find a way to get all these races in soon,” said Houff. 


Though the No. 18 of Ty Gibbs dominated much of the 150-lap race, it was ultimately Chandler Smith in the No. 20 JBL Toyota who reigned supreme. The 17-year-old found himself in victory lane after taking the lead during the final restart. This victory marks his eighth win in the ARCA Menards Series. 

Smith accredited much of his win to his crew chief, Billy Venturini. Looking back on his final restart Smith said, “Look where we ended up. It all came down for a reason.”

Following 0.303 seconds behind him was the No. 25 of Michael Self. Making up the rest of the top five was Ty Gibbs, the No. 17 of Tanner Gray, and the No. 17W of Zane Smith.

Throughout the course of the action-packed race, there were eight cautions. The first caution came on lap 12 with the No. 06 of Tim Richmond spinning in turn four. Turn four proved troublesome again on lap 32 when the No. 22 of Christian McGhee drove across the nose of the No. 16 of Gio Scelzi. Scelzi was also involved in the third caution on lap 38 when he hit the wall after slight contact with the No. 21 of Sam Mayer. The fourth caution gave way on lap 53 when Self suffered from mechanical issues and then was hit from behind by the No. 12 of Lawless Alan. Nine laps later, the No. 99 of Gracie Trotter stalled out on the track, which revealed the fifth caution. Lap 80 brought trouble for the No. 32 of Howie Di Savino III, who spun after racing side-by-side with the No. 15 of Drew Dollar. The seventh caution came out on lap 128 when the No. 46 of Thad Moffit slammed into the wall. The last caution appeared with six laps to go for contact between Dollar and the No. 19 of Jesse Love. 

ARCA racing will be back in action on April 19 at Salem Speedway for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200. The race will begin at 2 p.m. ET and can be found on MAVTV or TrackPass. 

After an extremely eventful race, it was ultimately the No. 20 Dex Imaging Toyota Supra of Harrison Burton that brought home the checkered flag. Though the Joe Gibbs racing driver had never completed a race at Auto Club Speedway, he was able to lead 40 laps and ultimately win the Production Alliance Group 300. Impressively, this was only the rookie’s third start as a full-time Xfinity Series driver, and now he can add a win to his resume. Of this win, Harrison Burton proclaimed to his crew chief Ben Beshore, “Let’s go boys! I knew we could do it! Proud of you guys! Let’s do this all year!”

Only 0.455 seconds behind Burton was his teammate Riley Herbst in the No. 18, who had also never raced at the track prior to today. Following behind Herbst was the rest of the top five, consisting of the No. 22 of Austin Cindric, the No. 39 of Ryan Sieg, and the No. 11 of Justin Haley.

Though Brandon Jones did not find himself finishing in this top five, he claimed both stage one and stage two. After starting on the pole, Jones was dominant in collecting these stage wins, leading all 35 laps in each stage. However, his day took a drastic turn when he had to pit on lap 103 due to a tire rub.

As far as on-track episodes go, there were six cautions due to on-track incidents. The first of these occurred on lap 81, where Justin Haley had a flat tire due to previous contact with the No. 21 of Anthony Alfredo. Next, a caution on lap 86 was brought out due to an incident involving Brandon Brown, Michael Annett, and Joe Graf Jr. The third caution was a spin for the No. 5 of Matt Mills. Lap 96 involved more contact; this time, the No. 10 of Ross Chastain bumped into the back of the No. 9 of Noah Gragson. The fifth of these cautions was simply for debris from a tire carcass. The last of these cautions was found on lap 126 with the second single car spin of the race; this time it was the No. 98 of Chase Briscoe, who was running second at the time of his spin. 

The Xfinity series will be back in action again on March 7 at Phoenix Raceway. Coverage will be found on FS1 with the race beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET.

After an hour long delay due to a brief rain shower, the first Bluegreen Vacations Duel determined the odd number starting positions 3-40 for the Daytona 500. With Ricky Stenhouse Jr. locked into the pole position and Alex Bowman starting alongside him, Logano was able to claim the third starting position with his Duel 1 victory. This was not an unfamiliar scene, as Logano won Duel 2 in 2019. 

In this duel, Logano took the win with a three car length lead. This lead was obtained with a strong No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford and huge pushes coming from Aric Almirola in the late laps of the 60-lap race. 

“We (Logano and Almirola) were making some hay when we could get attached,” said Almirola, following the race. 

Overall, Ford showed major strength in Duel 1 with Aric Almirola, Ryan Newman, and Brad Keselowski making up the rest of the top four. This was hardly a surprise given that Fords have won four of the last five duels. 

With regards to claiming a spot in the coveted Daytona 500, Reed Sorenson was able to cruise his way into the big race with an eighteenth-place finish in the duel. His job became significantly easier after Daniel Suarez’s night ended on lap 32 following contact with Ryan Blaney; this contact occurred as Suarez swerved to avoid making contact with Keselowski. 

As for the second Bluegreen Vacations Duel, William Byron took home his first duel win and claimed the fourth-place starting position for the Daytona 500. Though Kevin Harvick led for half the race, Byron was able to steal the lead in the closing laps with help from his teammate Jimmie Johnson. 

The win from the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet broke the strangle that the Fords held over the competition in Duel 1. Finishing in the top three behind Byron were the fellow Chevy drivers of Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Larson. 

Aside from a stronger performance from the Chevrolets, the last spot for Sunday’s race was up for grabs. Timmy Hill battled closely with J.J. Yeley for the opening. However, Yeley made contact with the wall on lap 42 after a slight clip from Corey LaJoie. Therefore, the last seat would later be filled by MBM motorsports’ Hill.
