Lyman Orchards’ Annual Corn Maze Celebrates CT native and NASCAR Champion Joey Logano

In 2018, Middletown, CT native Joey Logano topped the field throughout the season to become the first ever NASCAR Champion from New England. He drove his No. 22 Ford Mustang GT to three wins and 13 top-five finishes to claim the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

With its 20th annual Corn Maze, Lyman Orchards celebrates the NASCAR Champion by highlighting Joey’s accomplishment as the theme for this year’s maze. It will be open August 31st through November 3rd. The perfect place for an outing with family, friends and loved ones, Lyman Orchards’ Corn Maze is a fun and challenging experience that also supports a good cause in the community.

Logano produced a memorable title-clinching victory in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway to not only secure the second MENCS crown for Team Penske, but also check the box for the organization’s first win at the only NASCAR track where it had yet to visit Victory Lane.

“We are thrilled to pay tribute to Joey Logano’s record-setting win with this year’s Corn Maze. His NASCAR Championship run was legendary and we couldn’t be more proud to celebrate his success,” said John Lyman III, executive vice president, Lyman Orchards. “Joey is really involved in the community through the Joey Logano Foundation and we thought it would be a great way to bring awareness to the great work he is doing.”

Founded in 2013, the Joey Logano Foundation invests in organizations offering second chances to children and young adults during times of crisis and works to inspire others to live a life of generosity. Through grant making, charity events, and fan club participation, the Joey Logano Foundation continues to make a profound difference in the lives of children and young adults in need across the state and across the country.

“We’ve been discussing the lay out of the corn maze for several months now and I’m so excited to see it come to life,” said Logano. “I appreciate Lyman Orchards for all their hard work and willingness to further celebrate our 2018 NASCAR Championship season with us.”

Lyman also added that although the corn maze makes for fall fun, it helps to raise money for a worthy cause. Lyman Orchards will donate $1 from each maze admission to the American Cancer Society. Since the first maze in 2000, Lyman Orchards has donated $594,676.

“We’re pleased to continue to support the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and funds for this organization and the great work they do. This is our twentieth year working with them and their wonderful network of volunteers. We are so grateful that this partnership between our customers, Lyman Orchards and the American Cancer Society continues to benefit so many people.”

“The partnership between the American Cancer Society and Lyman Orchards is crucial to saving more lives from cancer in Connecticut and beyond,” said Lynn Kipphut, Community Development Manager, American Cancer Society. “The funds raised not only benefit breakthrough research, but also help get cancer patients access to lifesaving treatment. The team at Lyman has been helping make a tangible impact in our fight for many years. We are grateful for their partnership and overwhelming support.”

The Corn Maze is made possible by FOX61 and Connecticut Home Solutions.
