Ty Dillon Set to Pilot the K&L Ready Mix Camaro ZL1 at Michigan International Speedway

Weekend Notes

Ty Dillon is heading to Michigan International Speedway (MIS) with a different look for his No. 13 Camaro ZL1. K&L Ready Mix will adorn the hood of his Chevrolet in a first-time partnership between the Ready Mix supplier and Germain Racing. Dillon is a long-time partner of K&L Ready Mix, having had them as a personal sponsor since 2015.

This will be Dillon’s eighth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at MIS. He also has four NASCAR Xfinity Series races and two NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races to his name. During his 2011 championship season in the ARCA Menards Series, Dillon won the race at MIS.

Germain Racing’s Michigan Native

Germain Racing is led by Crew Chief Matt Borland, a Michigan native. This is Borland’s second year with the team as Dillon’s crew chief.

This weekend will be Borland’s 340th race atop the pit box as a NASCAR crew chief. Over the course of his career, he has won 13 races, led over 3,500 laps and earned 64 top-five and 108 top-10 finishes. Included in his wins is a 2013 victory in the Brickyard 400 at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway with driver Ryan Newman. Outside of his leadership roles over the years, Borland has extensive experience as a design/simulation engineer. He makes time to keep this skill set current in an environment where teams and drivers must embrace race simulation as preparatory work for each weekend.
