Daniel Suarez ran the fastest lap between both practices earlier today, but it was his SHR teammate Kevin Harvick who grabbed the Busch pole for the Gander RV 150 with a lap just over 174mph, almost two mph over Suarez’s practice time.
Despite SHR, HMS, and JGR showing the most speed both Joey Logano and Austin Dillon managed top five qualifying times.
Chase Elliot qualified 23rd, Bubba Wallace 26th, and Kyle Larson was 29th. While each of them will be starting from the rear of the field their qualifying position will count towards pit selection.
This was Harvick’s first pole award at Pocono Raceway with a day he described as “A Gnarly tsituation” in homage to the generation x scheme his team is sporting this weekend.
All cars are impounded after qualifying, the starting order won’t be official until all cars pass pre-race inspection on Sunday.
