The No. 13 GEICO Military team is headed to Kentucky Speedway riding the momentum of driver Ty Dillon’s career-best finish of fourth place at Daytona International Speedway last Sunday. The top-five finish also matched Germain Racing’s company-best finish that Casey Mears earned at Daytona International Speedway in July of 2014. The strong finish topped off a weekend in which Dillon was second fastest in the series’ first practice session and tenth fastest in the final session. Dillon is no stranger to Kentucky and has found plenty of success at the intermediate track. This will be his fourth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at the track. In his eight NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, Dillon has led 270 laps of competition and earned one pole award, three top-five and five top-10 finishes. He has competed in four Gander Outdoors Truck Series races at Kentucky, winning the 2013 event after leading 26 laps. |
