Prior to the 2018 May Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race at Kansas Speedway, all NASCAR fans are invited to a pre-race celebration at Dillons (720 Eisenhower Road, Leavenworth, Kan.) as the No. 47 Kroger ClickList Camaro ZL1 driver, AJ Allmendinger, signs autographs and interacts with fans during fun-filled activities on Thursday, May 10, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm.
“We couldn’t be more excited to cheer on AJ with his latest visit to Dillons,” said Sheila Lowrie, Dillons spokeswoman. “There is no one ready to have more fun than AJ, so we invite all our customers to help welcome him back to Kansas! Entertaining times are ahead at Dillons, that’s for sure!”
“I love being able to come to different race markets and meet with fans before the races,” Allmendinger said. “NASCAR has access unlike any sport, and it’s important to me to have the opportunity to meet with fans prior to hitting the track.”
In 16 starts, Allmendinger has four top-10 finishes, has led 44 laps and won the pole award for the 2012 spring Kansas Speedway race.
“Kansas Speedway is a really fun racetrack,” Allmendinger said. “Since the repave, the grip is still there, but it’s starting to fade as the track ages. We’ve had some decent runs at similar 1.5-mile tracks, and we’re looking to build on that this weekend in our Camaro ZL1. Not to mention, it’s a Saturday night race, and nothing speaks to NASCAR more than racing on a Saturday night under the lights.”
