RCR Post Race Report – Southern 500

“I’m just really proud of this team for bringing this Dale Earnhardt scheme out and making it run good like that. It means a lot to me, all the RCR guys and all of Dale’s fans. I’m proud to represent tonight. It was a good time, for sure. Our American Ethanol Chevy was really good on the long run, and that’s what we needed at the end. That last long run where we didn’t take tires… that was like water torture in the car. That’s a long run at Darlington with no tires. It’s been a fun year and hopefully we can take this into the playoffs and run really well. You want the momentum going into the playoffs and that’s what’s happening for our team. We have a great group of people at RCR. We’re a big family team that works hard.”

“It was an up and down night for this Caterpillar team. We had a top-10 car but had some trouble on pit road. Fortunately we had a really great stop when we needed it but we never got the track position on the short runs to show just how capable our car was on the long runs. We need to get all the little things right for us to make a real run at the championship. I believe we can get there, but one thing is for sure, it’s so nice that we are not having to point our way into the Playoffs with a strong run in Richmond. We’re in. That feels awesome.”
