Chris Buescher, No. 37 JTG Daugherty Racing Team to Honor Patty Moise at Darlington

JTG Daugherty Racing announced today the paint scheme that will run on the No. 37 Chevrolet SS as part of NASCAR’s Throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway on Labor Day Weekend. The No. 37 Cheerios team will pay tribute to NASCAR driver Patty Moise’s 1988 paint scheme on her No. 37 car, which she raced in the then NASCAR Busch Grand National Series.

“I’m really excited to have our No. 37 Cheerios Chevrolet pay tribute to another former No. 37 car,” Buescher said. “When we looked at some of the possibilities for our paint scheme, this one stood out because of the No. 37 number. The throwback weekend is one of the coolest weekends we have on the schedule, and Darlington Raceway is one of my favorite tracks as it is. I look forward to taking our No. 37 Cheerios Chevrolet and putting on a great show Labor Day Weekend.”

Moise began racing when she was 16, driving road course races in the IMSA series. She made her Busch Series debut in 1986 at Road Atlanta, and fielded her own team in the No. 37 car in the 1987 season. That same year, she made her Cup Series debut at Watkins Glen International.

Throughout her career, Moise had 133 Busch Series starts, with four top-10 finishes. She also made five Cup Series starts from 1987 through 1989. She is currently married to former NASCAR driver Elton Sawyer, who is now the Vice President, Officiating and Technical Inspection of NASCAR.

The Bojangles’ Southern 500 is set to kick off from Darlington Raceway on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Green flag is at 6:00 p.m., and will be broadcast on NBCSN, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
