Tommy Baldwin Racing and Accell Construction have partnered with Hope For The Warriors for the Memorial Day Weekend's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Piloting the No. 7 Chevrolet is NASCAR veteran, JJ Yeley.
Hope For the Warriors is a non-profit veteran service organization that provides full-cycle care to restore self, family and hope to post-9/11 service members, their families, and the families of the fallen. In honor of Memorial Day, LCpl Alejandro J "Poncho" Yazzie of the United States Marine Corps will be riding on board the Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet. LCpl Yazzie was a member of the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion out of Camp Pendleton, California, and was killed in action in 2010 in Afghanistan.
“I am honored to have Hope For The Warriors on board my No. 7 Accell Construction Chevrolet this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” said Yeley. “Hope For The Warriors is a great organization that I have had the opportunity to work with over the past three years. The dedication and support that they give to our servicemen and women and their families is unmatched by any other organization.”
"Memorial Day is a day to honor our fallen heroes, Hope For The Warriors appreciates JJ Yeley and Tommy Baldwin Racing's honoring of LCpl Yazzie, USMC during the 600 Miles of Remembrance," said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of Hope For The Warriors. "Hope For The Warriors intention is to honor the Gold Star families of those service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, and ensure that their loved one's sacrifice is not forgotten."
