Fifth Third Bank and Roush Fenway Racing Team up to Drive Away Hunger

Fifth Third Bank is revving up its efforts to drive food donations in the community on Fifth Third Day (5/3 on the calendar) by partnering with Roush Fenway Racing and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.  Volunteers from both organizations will join together for a food collection drive throughout the month of May and at Second Harvest Food Bank as part of Fifth Third’s annual “Feeding our Communities” initiative.

“We’re partners on and off the track supporting the causes in the community that are important to both organizations”, states Tom Heiks, Group Regional President for Fifth Third Bank.

This year, the goal is bigger than ever – to provide 1 million meals to families in need throughout the bank’s 10-state footprint. The public can help by stopping by any Fifth Third Bank location during the month of May to donate non-perishable food items that will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

“We are proud to support Fifth Third Day alongside our friends at Fifth Third Bank and help them achieve their goal to provide a million meals to families in need,” stated Stenhouse.  “Last year we were honored to help with the backpack program and I’m super excited to take my team back to Second Harvest to volunteer again this year.”

“Second Harvest and Fifth Third Bank partner together every year to help feed our hungry neighbors”, says Kay Carter, CEO for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. “In a little over a month most schools in our area will be letting out for summer break. The donations from the Roush and Fifth Third team will go a long way to help us feed children who will no longer have access to school meals during that time. We are thankful Fifth Third is committed to helping end hunger in our region.”
