“I think with the repave, Watkins Glen is just going to be even faster and have a ton of grip. I’m looking forward to it. The Glen is kind of cool because it’s fast and it does kind of drive like an oval, but it has left- and right-hand turns. I felt like I enjoyed Sonoma a little bit more this year than I ever have. So, even though the tracks are completely different, it gives me a little excitement going to Watkins Glen.
“The bus stop is always challenging. I’ve watched some of the really good road course racers, like A.J. Allmendinger, and Marcos Ambrose and Juan Montoya when they were racing with us, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart. I don’t understand how they get through that corner the way they do. That will forever be a challenge for me. But I’m up for it. We’re eager to take it on.“
