NASCAR fans are extremely loyal and their passion for the sport is an area Sprint Cup Series driver Michael McDowell finds inspiration through both on and off the track. The driver of the No. 95 Thrivent Racing Chevrolet SS believes the dedication found in NASCAR fans is unlike that found in any other sport.
“It’s very cool that our sport has the avid following that it does and the loyalty of the fans is incredible,” said McDowell. “I recognize fans that come to the same races year-after-year and are there supporting me. Those are true fans and it’s inspiring to have their support at the race track or when they’re cheering us on at home each weekend.”
“Sometimes you can really see the dedication of fans when you have a run-in with another driver – and you can feel that wrath!” McDowell said with a smile. “That really shows the fan support drivers have!”
Thrivent Racing is encouraging fans to share their stories of inspiration at www.ThriventRacing.com. Race fans can upload photos, videos or text explaining how they are inspired and how they inspire others, as well as check out submissions from others. Each fan who shares an inspiration will receive a gift from Thrivent Racing following their first submission.
Additionally, fans who visit the site can enter Thrivent’s “Motor to Miami” sweepstakes. One grand prize winner and one guest will be flown to Miami, FL for the season finale race, stay in a motorcoach in the track’s infield, meet Michael McDowell and receive exclusive access to watch the race from the team’s pit box.
