ExxonMobil Goes All In with Mobil 1 at Pocono

A live-broadcasted virtual race, a one-of-a-kind time lapse experience and another leg of an endless road trip are all upcoming digital video events to celebrate ExxonMobil’s expanded partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing at Pocono. These three pieces of Mobil 1TM online content will be released during the days leading up to race weekend, culminating with full primary sponsorships of Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick and Tony Stewart for the Pennsylvania 400 NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series race. Additionally, Mobil 1 will be the presenting sponsor of the race’s NBC Sports Network TV broadcast on July 31.

“The same brand having marquee placement on three cars for one of NASCAR’s top teams during the same race is rare, so we are marking the event by bringing more Mobil 1-branded action to race fans before and during the Pocono Sprint Cup race,” said Kai Decker, global motorsports manager at ExxonMobil. “Our Mobil 1 Pocono digital content ranges from light-hearted to thrilling and provides behind-the-scenes access we think fans will love.”

The latest installment in the “Endless Road Trip” video series starring Harvick, Patrick and Stewart will be released on Tuesday, July 26. In this episode, the three drivers banter humorously as they make their way to Pocono Raceway. The episode will be featured alongside previous episodes on the Mobil 1 YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels.

On Wednesday, July 27, ExxonMobil will roll out the “Mobil 1 | Three wide at the Tricky Triangle” time lapse video across the Mobil 1 brand’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels. Filmed at Stewart-Haas Racing headquarters in Kannapolis, N.C., the video – named after Pocono’s famed “Tricky Triangle” race track – gives fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at the wrapping of the No. 4, No. 10 and No. 14 Chevrolets with Mobil 1 paint schemes as they are prepped for Pocono.

On Thurs., July 28 at 6:30 p.m. EDT, Tony Stewart will go head-to-head with some of eSports’ best stock car drivers in the Mobil 1 Virtual Showdown. Broadcasted live online, Stewart will take on top drivers from the iRacing League in a Pocono Raceway race simulation. The entire event will be also streamed live on iRacing’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

“It’s unique for a real-world NASCAR driver and an eSports driver to go head-to-head on an equal playing field, and I’m looking forward taking on some of iRacing’s finest sim drivers,” said Stewart. “The Mobil 1 Virtual Showdown gives me an extra turn in the No. 14 Mobil 1 Chevy before Kevin, Danica and I all hit the Tricky Triangle track on Sunday with our Mobil 1 paint schemes.”

Lastly, race fans taking in the Sprint Cup Series race from the Pocono track itself will be able to view geo-targeted, additional Mobil 1 content on their mobile devices.

All fans are encouraged to visit NASCAR.com and Mobil 1 on Facebook and Twitter during race weekend to experience even more Pocono excitement.
