SunnyD and Roush Fenway Invite Fans to Remake Classic “Purple Stuff” Commercial

SunnyD and Roush Fenway Racing invite fans to remake the pop culture classic “Purple Stuff” commercial with the opportunity to win cool SunnyD prize packs. From July 11 until the checkered flag drops in Indianapolis on July 24, fans can submit their own version of the iconic “purple stuff” vs. SunnyD spot using any social media channel with the hashtag #ShareaSunnyD.

Fans are encouraged to use their own artistic vision to create video submissions that can range from full remakes of the commercial to short video clips – and anything in between.

Earlier this year, Roush Fenway, NASCAR Champions Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Chris Buescher and media personalities Kaitlyn Vincie and Andrew Doud, shared their take on the retro commercial, drawing rave reviews from fans and national media alike (Click here to see video). In 2015, SunnyD put its own spin on the original commercial, creating a strong media buzz around the iconic brand with a ‘where are they now’ themed version.

“We had a lot of fun remaking the ‘Purple Stuff’ commercial,” said Stenhouse. “Now we are inviting the fans to have a little fun of their own. They can submit their own version and see if they can make it even better.

“It can be as long or as short as they like, filmed in any way and submitted across any social channel with the hashtag #ShareaSunnyD,” added Stenhouse. “We’ll pick our favorites and we’ll send out a bunch of cool SunnyD prizes and of course re-share them across our social channels. It’s going to be a lot of fun for everyone.”

SunnyD will once again serve as the primary partner on Stenhouse’s No. 17 Ford Fusion in two weeks when NASCAR visits the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 23rd running of the Brickyard 400.
