Crew Chief Puccia Knows Next Two Races Essential for Potential Chase Berth

For Matt Puccia, crew chief of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion driven by Trevor Bayne, the next two races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) at Sonoma Raceway and Daytona International Speedway will be key in determining what strategy will be needed to make the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

“These next two races are definitely the wild cards,” said Puccia. “You really don’t know what to expect both here at Sonoma and next weekend in Daytona. It’s really in the driver’s hands to take care of the car and hopefully by the end of the day we get a solid finish.”

Currently sitting 18th in the NSCS championship standings Bayne trails the 16th and final position by 19 points heading into this weekend’s event at Sonoma. With the multitude of variables that come with the next two races, crew chief Puccia knows the importance of getting solid runs heading into the heat of the summer.

“It’s important that we get the most that we can out of the next two weeks,” added Puccia. “We have a good little stretch here before we get to the Chase and two solid finishes here will definitely help us moving forward into seeing how we can get this AdvoCare Ford into the Chase come September.”
