Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing Out to Defend Home Turf at Michigan

After posting their sixth top-10 finish of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup season at Pocono on Monday, Ryan Blaney and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team roll into the Irish Hills of Michigan for Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Brooklyn is a mere couple-hour drive from Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn so the races at MIS take on extra significance for all Blue Oval teams, especially the Wood Brothers’ iconic No. 21, commonly referred to as Ford’s “company car.”

Blaney maintains his hold on 15th place in the drivers’ standings after 14 races with 12 to go before the start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

“Michigan is an important race for us. It’s Ford’s home turf and that puts a little something extra in trying to win there. We ran both races last year and learned a lot. This year, with the new rules package, I think teams are going to be guessing for a little bit but will eventually get with it.”
