Harris Teeter Fan Fest Kicks off to Compliment Charlotte Motor Speedway Race Weeks

Before the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, NASCAR fans are cordially invited to a pre-race get together at Harris Teeter (12190 University Boulevard, Harrisburg, N.C.) as the No. 47 Harris Teeter Express Lane/BUSH’S Beans Chevrolet SS driver AJ Allmendinger signs autographs and engages with fans during fun-filled activities at the store on Wednesday, May 25th, from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.

“Harris Teeter is happy to introduce our shoppers to AJ and celebrate the upcoming Coca-Cola 600,” said Danna Robinson, Communication Manager for Harris Teeter. “NASCAR is a part of our local culture and, as a brand born here in North Carolina, we are proud to be a part of the excitement surrounding the race.”

“We’re really looking forward to having Harris Teeter as a primary sponsor on our No. 47 Chevy for the Coca-Cola 600 and what a great way to promote their brand by tying in a store visit with fans,” Allmendinger said. “These store visits are always a good time for the fans and it’s a great way to give them something fun to do while they are in our race market. This Harris Teeter store in particular is only minutes from Charlotte Motor Speedway and literally across the street from the JTG Daugherty Racing shop, where the guys build our race cars. It’s a great location and easy for the fans to get to. I’ll be signing autographs and there will be a lot of great things going on inside and outside the store for adults and children. Come stop by and say hello while you shop for your tailgating supplies. It’s always a fun time.”

Once Allmendinger’s store appearance concludes, he turns his focus to the longest race of the year that is 600 miles in length. The San Jose, Calif.-native’s best finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile quad-oval is fifth-place (5/29/11) and he’s optimistic about the team’s chances after finishing in the top-10 (eighth-place) at Kansas Speedway’s 1.5-mile track recently.

“We’ve placed a lot of focus on our intermediate program because there was definitely room for improvement in that area,” said Allmendinger, who has one top-five and two top-10 finishes at Charlotte Motor Speedway and has led 11 laps there. “We still have some work to do, but we are better than last year and we have a positive outlook. We’ve had some good runs at mile-and-a-half tracks this year, but we’re still working hard to be even better.”

To catch the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coca-Cola 600, tune in Sunday, May 29th for the Coca-Cola 600 live from Charlotte Motor Speedway at 6 PM ET on FOX/PRN/SiriusXM.
