A key goal for the Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing team at Kansas Speedway was to work on their 1.5-mile speedway program and find ways to make gains on the race track.
NASCAR veteran driver Michael McDowell had previously secured a career-best 28th finish at Kansas Speedway and secured the same result on Saturday night after qualifying the No. 95 WRL General Contractors Chevrolet SS in 30th position for the race.
Crew chief Dave Winston and the CSLFR team worked diligently on the No. 95 throughout the Go Bowling 400 as McDowell reported in handling challenges during the 267-lap event.
“The team made some progress tonight and we are looking to make more gains at future 1.5-mile tracks,” said Winston. “We have some good stuff to build on and I’m looking forward to taking our learnings to Charlotte Motor Speedway later this month.”
Next up for Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing will be the AAA Drive for Autism 400 at Dover International Speedway on Sunday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. Michael McDowell will pilot the No. 95 Chevrolet at Dover.
