Race Adjustments Help Austin Dillon and the American Ethanol Team Earn Sixth Top-10 Finish of 2016

“I had a fun night tonight. The American Ethanol Chevrolet was pretty fast. We just had to keep steadily working our way through there and thankfully it worked out well for us. I think we found some stuff on our adjustments as the race went on. We just kept getting better and better. It was challenging to pass tonight. For a while we were three-wide in the middle of the pack. It was hard to clear people. You could get close but you couldn’t clear. It was a good night for us and and I know we will have a win before too long.”

Night Ends Early for Paul Menard and the No. 27 NIBCO / Menards Team at Kansas Speedway

“My guys worked hard this weekend on our NIBCO / Menards Chevy, and I hate we don’t have the finish to show it. We struggled a little bit in practice but were able to make some big gains before qualifying and that showed when we started 11th. During the race we made adjustments to balance out a loose-handling car in and off the turns. By the time we got that under control, I was in the wall because of what we think was a right-front tire issue. It just tore apart. Not long after that we had an issue under the hood that ended our day early. I hate it for this team, but we’ll regroup and get ready for next weekend.”

Ryan Newman Earns Best Finish of the Season with Seventh-Place Result at Kansas Speedway

“I can’t thank this Grainger team enough for giving me a strong Chevrolet all weekend long. We battled  handling concerns and had to adjust to damage to our racecar throughout the race but we kept fighting and that’s what this team needs to do. Tonight was our best finish of the season and like I told the team, keep digging. We have plenty of racing left to turn our season around. I’m hopeful this top-10 finish tonight will be the start of that turnaround.”
