NASCAR on NBC: 2015 NBC Sports Digital and Social Media wrap up

As NBCSN prepares to present the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards this Friday, at 9 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Groups’ social and digital platforms reflect on increased traffic and impressions throughout the five-month season.

NBC SPORTS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS SEE IMPRESSION INCREASE

Retiring legend Jeff Gordon’s #24Ever content garnered 53 million impressions on Facebook and 10 million on Twitter, making it a dominant trending force throughout the season.

Since July 1st, NASCAR on NBC’s Facebook page has produced 339 million total impressions on content pushed from the page, while the @NASCARonNBC Twitter handle has gathered 77 million impressions and increased its followers by 47%.

Custom videos on the NASCAR on NBC Facebook page have accumulated more than 18 million views, with Blake Shelton’s open contributing 1.5 million individual views and 17,000 shares.

NASCAR SPRINT CUP CHAMPIONSHIP COVERAGE BREAKS RECORDS FOR NBC SPORTS DIGITAL

Kyle Busch’s NASCAR Sprint Cup victory and the final bow of Jeff Gordon’s iconic career in the Ford EcoBoost 400 was the most-watched NASCAR race on NBC Sports Live Extra, delivering 84,000 unique users and 4 million live minutes, up 126% and 64%, respectively, versus the 2015 Sprint Cup season average. NBC Sports Group offered two options to stream the race on NBC Sports Live Extra – the primary NBC broadcast and NBCSN’s spotlight coverage of the four drivers racing for the 2015 title.

In addition, NASCAR Talk broke records in the month of November delivering 4.0 million visits and 7.9 million page views, after logging its best month ever in October among visits (3.3 million) and page views (5.9 million).
