The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to the Midwest for the 15th annual Hollywood Casino 400 at the Kansas Speedway. The Hollywood Casino 400 will serve as the 31st race of the season as the 2015 calendar continues on. Joey Logano will come into the weekend as the defending race winner.
The Sprint Cup Series entry list features 44 drivers. Some of these include Ryan Blaney, Will Kimmel, Brian Scott, Brett Moffitt, Timmy Hill and Reed Sorenson. One car will have to go home after qualifying on Friday afternoon.
Joey Logano will come into the Kansas Speedway weekend as one of the most relaxed Sprint Cup Series drivers in the garage. That is because Logano captured the win last weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway to secure his spot into the Eliminator round of the Chase. The win last weekend was his first at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 25-year old has four victories, 18 top five and 24 top 10 finishes through 30 races in 2015.
Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray and Clint Bowyer each come into their home track this weekend. Each of the three drivers have yet to win in the Sprint Cup Series at the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway. Both Edwards and Bowyer already have wins at the track in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Jeff Gordon comes into the Kansas Speedway looking to capture one more victory at the 1.5-mile oval in the Midwest. Gordon holds three victories in 19 career starts in his No. 24 Chevrolet at Kansas. A win would also be beneficial as it would secure Gordon into the next round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will air live on NBC and NBC Live Extra at 2:15 p.m. ET. on Sunday. The Motor Racing Network will carry the live radio broadcast of the event.
