The legendary Wood Brothers’ #21 car will feature the theme “Manufacturing Makes America Strong” which reinforces the importance of modern industry to providing good-paying, high skill jobs. It also helps promote this year’s Manufacturing Day in which participating plants open their doors on October 2nd to demonstrate the potential of modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers.
Erin Streeter, senior vice president of communications for the National Association of Manufacturers, stated, “This is a great opportunity for us to showcase manufacturing in a different way and to reach a new audience, especially our young people, about the career opportunities available in many of our high-tech industries. Manufacturing Day kicks off on Friday, October 2, where more than 1,000 manufacturers around the United States will open their shop floors to showcase the possibilities that exist in modern manufacturing. We appreciate the support that SKF provides as a member of the National Association of Manufacturers, and this opportunity is a great way to tell our story.”
SKF has eight US factories participating in the event. You can search the full list of all manufacturers at www.mfgday.com to find those in your local area.
