Roush Yates Engines Powers Two Bristol Motor Speedway Wins

Joey Logano motored his No. 22 FORD Fusion powered by Roush Yates Engines to victory lane for the second consecutive year at the Bristol night race. Ryan Blaney won his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race of 2015 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday, August 19th.

“I feel like we are right where we need to be. I can’t wait for the Chase to start,” said Logano. “It was a very exciting last 20, 30 laps for sure, and neat to be able to get a checkered flag again here at Bristol.”

Team Penske drivers of Logano and Brad Keselowski started fifth and sixth in the Irwin Tools 500. On lap 354, Logano would capture the lead. Logano was able to power to first from the outside starting position on several restarts.

With 50 laps to go, Logano was pressured heavily for the lead but kept his cool and led the final 63 laps for his 11th win of his young career. In all, the Team Penske driver led 176 laps in a race which saw 14 lead changes.

Logano has three wins this season, tying him for the second-most wins in Sprint Cup. The Connecticut native has won a 2.5 mile superspeedway, a road course and a half mile short track in 2015. He currently sits second in Sprint Cup points with 18 Top-10 finishes and 0 DNF’s.

Mooresville, NC. August 19, 2015 – Ryan Blaney would start the UNOH 200 from the outside pole and motored to a large lead in the opening laps. On lap 39, Blaney would be black flagged for jumping the restart, putting the No. 29 FORD F-Series truck down a lap. The Brad Keselowski Racing truck would receive a free pass on the second caution of the night. By lap 161, Blaney was back up to sixth and charging forward when NASCAR issued the red flag for rain which lasted 45 minutes.

With six laps to go, Blaney made the pass for second and was charging forward. A caution with four laps to go would setup a green-white-checkered with Blaney restarting second. After a great restart, Blaney powered to the lead, leading the final two laps for the win.

“To come from a lap down, to do it in that fashion, it says so much for this team to be able to charge back up there,” said Blaney, “I’m proud of everyone on this No. 29 team. I’ve had a chance to drive this truck four times this year and we’ve come really, really close every single time and to finally get it to Victory Lane, it really means a lot to get Chad and Brad back to Victory Lane.”
