No. 34 Promotes National Root Beer Float Day

Brett Moffitt and the No. 34 Ford team will make sure NASCAR fans don’t forget an important holiday as they watch Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway. Moffitt’s Ford Fusion will promote National Root Beer Float day, celebrated on August 6, when A&W All American Food restaurants will give out free Root Beer Floats and encourage customers to make a donation to help American veterans in return.

The campaign, which benefits Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), will be promoted in a special orange-and-brown paint scheme on Moffitt’s No. 34 Ford for the upcoming race weekend at the Long Pond, Pa., track. The simple message: Visit any participating A&W restaurant on Aug. 6 between 2 p.m. and closing time and receive one small Root Beer Float free of charge upon request. In return, guests will be encouraged to make a donation to WWP. Donors will be able to give directly at participating restaurants or online at www.rootbeerfloatday.com.

WWP serves 50,000 injured veterans and nearly 7,000 family members through its unique 20 programs and services. During the 2014 celebration of National Root Beer Float Day, A&W raised $200,000 for WWP and hopes to increase this level of giving this year and in years to come.

Front Row Motorsports is proud to promote the annual campaign to the NASCAR audience on its No. 34 Ford for the second straight year.

“This is a great way to get people to circle a date on the calendar and do something simple to help our injured veterans,” Moffitt said. “Everybody loves a good old-fashioned root beer float. And you can help some deserving people by going to get one for free at A&W and then paying it forward with a few dollars to Wounded Warrior Project.”
