Richard Petty Motorsports announced today, Speed Perks, Advance Auto Parts’ customer loyalty program, will serve as the primary sponsor for Sam Hornish Jr. and the No. 9 Ford Fusion at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Kentucky Speedway this weekend. Speed Perks offers loyal customers the opportunity to earn rebates and special incentives from their in-store purchases.
As customer loyalty programs become a widespread practice for retailers, NASCAR provides the perfect outlet for advertising Speed Perks. Research shows that NASCAR fans are 24% more likely to shop at an automotive specialty retailer than non-fans. NASCAR fans are also 24% more likely to change their motor oil on their own than non-fans*.
“NASCAR and Richard Petty Motorsports provide us with a great platform to showcase our Speed Perks program,” said Walter Scott, Chief Marketing Officer of Advance Auto Parts. “The NASCAR fan demographic falls right in line with our target customer. This is a great way for us to give back to our loyal customers, and we want to make sure our customers know how to take advantage of it.”
An avid car guy himself, Hornish is looking forward to representing Speed Perks in Kentucky.
“In my down time, I enjoy restoring and collecting cars,” said Hornish. “I think I can speak for all ‘car guys’ when I say that a program like Speed Perks is perfect for people like me. It makes sense for me to go to a retailer where I can purchase the parts I need and also earn money towards my next purchase or earn special incentives.”
The Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on July 11. Live coverage of the race is on NBCSN.
