ParkerStore, a network of independently-owned Industrial Retail™ operations, has partnered with 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Kyle Larson to host the inaugural Kyle Larson’s Outlaw Kart Showcase Presented by ParkerStore. The one-day event will be held on Tuesday, September 8, at Cycleland Speedway in Chico, Calif.
Larson, who will pilot the No. 42 ParkerStore Chevrolet in this weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Michigan International Speedway, began his racing career in Outlaw Kart competition. ParkerStore was Larson’s first corporate sponsor on his Outlaw Kart when he was 12 years old.
“Outlaw Kart racing, specifically at Cycleland, is where I learned how to race,” Larson said. “That was where it all started for me. There are a lot of talented drivers racing Outlaw Karts right now, and I wanted to give back to the sport that gave so much to me. It will be fun to get back in a kart and race against them.”
Larson will drive the ParkerStore sponsored No. 1k Outlaw Kart in the event that boasts a more than $20,000 purse, the largest-ever in Outlaw Kart history. Larson’s ParkerStore kart will be an exact replica of the kart he took to victory lane in many of his 129 career kart victories.
“Kyle has always been a great ambassador for us at ParkerStore,” said Brad Fischer, Director, Global Retail Operations, Parker Hannifin, ParkerStore’s parent company. “When Kyle talked to us about this event it was the perfect fit for us. We were there when he was tearing up Cycleand as a kid and we want to be back there with him when he’s promoting races for the kids who are doing it now.”
In 2014, ParkerStore reunited with Larson as the primary sponsor of his No. 42 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entry at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This year, they are joining HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi Racing as the primary sponsor of Larson’s No. 42 Chevrolet for this weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Michigan International Speedway and again for the XFINITY Series race at Texas Motor Speedway in November.
