Clint Bowyer No. 15 Jack Link’s/Big Machine Records Toyota Pocono Preview

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to one of its most unique tracks this weekend. Pocono Raceway is known for its unusual shape, which includes the absence of a turn 4.

The unique nature can create some headaches for crew chiefs who have the unenviable task of setting up race cars to handle the wildly varying turns. However, Brian Pattie and the No. 15 crew have some good notes from which to work. Last year, their driver Clint Bowyer finished 11th and fourth respectively.

Bowyer brings his No. 15 Jack Link’s/Big Machine Records Toyota Camry to the Pennsylvania track coming off an impressive run last weekend at Dover where he ran up front for most of the race, finishing ninth.

He hopes to continue that momentum at Pocono. With country music label Big Machine Records and Jack Link’s, a snack company that likes to “feed the wild side,” on his car this weekend, it seems a match made in heaven for Bowyer, a country music fan who often says victory lane will be “wild” upon the teams next visit.

What do you expect at Pocono?

“We need to keep the good momentum we have coming off of Dover rolling into this weekend. I know everyone’s working to get us going in the right direction and hopefully last weekend is the first of many good runs coming up for us. At Pocono, it’s such a different track. Getting the car set up for each turn is key but it’s also pretty difficult because each one is so different. We had two good runs going there last year, so I’m optimistic.”
