In an effort to give back to the men and women who serve this country, BK Racing has devoted two months to participate in military base visits, along with several other initiatives. While visiting Camp Lejeune, a Marine Corps base in Hubert, North Carolina, Dibenedetto, along with fellow teammates, had the opportunity to visit the Hope For The Warriors, Hope and Care Center, where injured service members can go to get help. In addition, the team also spent time at a gun simulation station, and the base's brig.
"It was really a great experience to spend time with some of our active military," commented Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, Matt Dibenedetto. "We got to spend time at the Hope and Care Center, as well as play with some machine guns in a gun simulation program. I think it's important to give back to the men and women that serve this country. I am proud and honored to be part of BK Racing's American Salute campaign, and have the opportunity to spend time with our service members."
Camp Lejeune marks the first of many military base visits for the team. Up next, the team will visit with Dover Air Force Base for a flight simulation, as well as spending the day touring the facility. Don't forget to submit the names of a fallen hero to appear on JJ Yeley's No. 23 Toyota at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600. 100% of all donations will be donated back to the Hope For The Warriors organization, a non-profit who provide comprehensive support programs for veterans and their families.
