NSCS: Kurt Busch Fastest Man in Texas Qualifying

Kurt Busch captured the pole for Saturday’s Duck Commander 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway with a time of 27.857 seconds, 193.847 mph. Busch captured his 18th career Sprint Cup Series pole for his second of the season. Busch earned the pole earlier in the year at the Auto Club Speedway.

Busch’s teammate, Kevin Harvick, will roll from the second starting spot. Harvick posted a time of 27.857 seconds, 193.722 mph. He came within 0.018 seconds of earning his 16th career pole in the series. Harvick will start inside the top 10 for the fifth time of the year.

Brad Keselowski will start the Duck Commander 500 from the third starting spot. Keselowski posted a quick time of 27.951 seconds, 193.195 mph. The top 10 start will mark his third of the year.

Ryan Blaney will make his fifth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start on Saturday after a 13th-place qualifying effort. Blaney did not make it into the final round after posting a lap of 28.058 seconds, 192.273 mph. He comes into the race looking to capture his first top 10 finish in the series.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will have some work to do once the green flag flies to begin the race. Earnhardt posted the 25th fastest time in the first round of knockout qualifying. He posted a time of 28.115 seconds, 192.068 mph.

Brendan Gaughan and Jeb Burton will fail to make the race.
