Past XFINITY History Gives Bayne High Hopes for Phoenix

As Trevor Bayne prepares for his second career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Phoenix International Raceway, a look back at his history in the NASCAR XFINITY Series at the one-mile oval gives the driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion confidence heading into this weekend.

“I always look forward to racing in Phoenix,” said Bayne. “It is a fun track to race on, especially since the repave. It has a lot of the characteristics you would see at a short track, but the speeds that you would see on a speedway. We’ve run really well here the past few races in the XFINITY Series and I’m excited to see how that success will transition over to our Cup car this weekend.”

Dating back to the Nov. 12, 2011 event, Bayne has recorded one top-five, a fourth in March 2012, and six consecutive top-10 finishes including a ninth in his most recent XFINITY race there in Nov. 2014.

Phoenix also has been a successful place for Crew Chief Bob Osborne, who went to Victory Lane at the Valley in the Sun in Nov. 2010 with then Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards.

The Campingworld.com 500 will take the green flag at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX and MRN.
