New Year New Team for Cole Whitt and Speed Stick

The journey to Speedweeks in Daytona 2015 wasn’t an easy one for Cole Whitt. While looking back at the start of 2014 Whitt was in position to be a bright year as he started with an announcement to take over a second car for Swan Racing with support from rapper 50 Cents audio brand SMS Audio supported by Speed Stick taking the primary sponsorship for the 2014 Daytona 500.

“Swan Racing and its up-and-coming drivers are the perfect match for SMS Audio,” said Jackson. “They are as passionate for the sport of racing as we are for our audio products, and we’re confident that the music-loving NASCAR fan base is going to enjoy our headphones – whether at track or at home.”

The high note for Whitt didn’t last long as three months into the NASCAR schedule Swan Racing announced a restructuring sending Cole Whitt and co-owner Anthony Marlow to BK Racing for the reminder of the season.

“This is truly an exciting day for BK Racing,” said team owner Ron Devine. “I am thrilled to continue growing our organization into a top contending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team. Cole is a very talented driver and Randy as his crew chief make a great combination and I’m excited to have them both in our stable.”

Finishing out the reminder of the year Whitt was unable to post a top-10 finish, ending up 31st in the Sprint Cup Series points with four DNQ’s.

With the 2015 Speedweeks right around the corner it was expected that Whitt would again be returning with BK Racing in part to his partnership with Anthony Marlow as co-owner of the team. However just weeks before NASCAR returned to the beaches of Daytona, Front Row Motorsports announced Whitt would join the team in the No 35 which had been driven by Josh Wise.

“I’m really excited and grateful for the opportunity to go racing with Front Row Motorsports and continue my relationship with Speed Stick®,” Whitt said. “Bob Jenkins is a smart businessman and has grown his team the right way over the years, and I’m really looking forward to being a part of that growth. The 2014 season was great for me as a driver. We had some important personal victories and some areas where we’ll want to improve.”

Whitt and his Front Row Motorsports team backed with a sponsorship from Speed Stick will have their first chance to make to work together with a new qualifying format on Sunday February 15th at 1PM.
