Gilliland: Progressive Banking Makes for Fun Finale

David Gilliland, driver of the No. 38 MDS Transport Ford, comments on racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“We want to finish off the season on a high note, of course. We had a good weekend in Phoenix, so we want to carry that momentum to Homestead. And Homestead is a track where we can run well.

“The progressive banking at Homestead is a lot of fun. I remember the first time I went there, it reminded me a lot of Irwindale Speedway, where I raced in California, but obviously bigger. You definitely have options there. You can run all over. And it’s another track that each and every year loses grip. That Florida sunshine takes its toll on it.

“It’s definitely going to be a big weekend with the new Chase format. Homestead has always been a big weekend, but now it’s going to be even bigger. And, of course, it’s a big weekend for Ford. We’ll be doing a lot with them, too, with appearances and meet-and-greets. So, we’ll have a lot going on off the track, but, of course, we want to have a good finish on the track to cap off our season.”
