Biffle Shuffled By Late Race Caution; Finishes 25th at Talladega

Greg Biffle “safely” avoided multiple late race cautions to cross the finish line 25th in his No. 16 3M Safety Ford at Talladega.  Biffle started 24th and in true restrictor plate racing fashion spent time towards both the front and back of the pack, even leading the way for one lap.  Biffle got shuffled back in the two green-white-checkered attempts, getting trapped in the slow moving inside lane and couldn’t make up the lost ground, leading to a 25th-place finish.

Biffle wasted no time making his move towards the front of the pack at the start of the race. By lap two he had cracked the top five and was comfortably cruising in the high line around the track when the bottom line took a turn with the momentum and the No. 16 was shuffled back almost as fast as they had worked their way forward.

Throughout the race the only handling feedback Biffle had on his Ford was that it was tight and loose at the same time.  Crew chief Matt Puccia made some track bar adjustments during routine stops, but the No. 16 3M Ford continued to handle best on the top groove of the track.

A relatively caution free race closed out with two attempts at a green-white-checkered finish.  The No. 16 was involved in the first attempt ending in a caution after contact from behind caused Biffle to spin a fellow competitor.  Biffle took the final restart 28th but got trapped in the bottom line and was unable to move forward.  Biffle crossed the finish line 25th and is currently 14th in the Championship point standings.
