Big Machine Artists Rascal Flatts Team With Sam Bass at Brickyard

For the second time in two weeks, Sam Bass will debut a newly designed, custom Gibson guitar at a NASCAR event. This time, the guitars will be starring on stage with country music group Rascal Flatts during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400 pre-race ceremonies. His second time working with the Big Machine recording artists, Bass has designed two special guitars for the band to play during a concert at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Prior to the Brickyard 400 special edition guitars, Bass designed a custom Gibson Les Paul for Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney to play at the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards Banquet in Las Vegas. A matching guitar was auctioned on NASCAR.com following the event and raised over $15,000 for The NASCAR Foundation.

“It’s truly an honor to work with Big Machine recording artists Rascal Flatts again, especially at such a prestigious event like the Brickyard 400,” Bass commented. “I’ve played and loved guitars since I was eight years old, so it’s a dream come true to see my art work played by one of my favorite acts. “

“Sam’s an incredible artist and has become a great friend,” Scott Borchetta, President and CEO of Big Machine Records explained. “His involvement with both NASCAR and music has become seamless with the amazing guitars he paints for the Music City races, and there was just no way we could have an event like the Brickyard 400, with our artists performing, without asking Sam to be involved. The guitar and bass he has painted for Rascal Flatts are spectacular and I cannot wait for everyone to see them on Sunday!”

Bass will be attending the pre-race festivities to support Big Machine and debut the guitars with the band.
