Leavine Family Racing Announces Partnership with Thrivent Financial

Leavine Family Racing has announced a multi-race partnership this season with Thrivent Financial for the No. 95 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race team and driver Michael McDowell. Thrivent is a financial services organization that helps Christians be wise with money and live generously.

The NASCAR race team sponsorship is a first for Thrivent and will include five races with LFR, starting with a primary paint scheme at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 23, and four associate sponsorships on the No. 95 Ford Fusion this season.

Thrivent is a not-for-profit, Fortune 500 financial services membership organization of Christians, with approximately 2.4 million members and over 100 years of experience. Thrivent Financial, based in Minneapolis (domiciled in Appleton, Wis.), offers a broad range of products and services—including life insurance, annuities and mutual funds—along with guidance from financial representatives nationwide.

“Our collaboration with Leavine Family Racing gives us the unique opportunity to align with a growing race team while reaching a broader Christian community through a faith- and family-first driver,” said Craig Stacey, director of content marketing, Thrivent Financial. “We are particularly drawn to McDowell’s genuine and routine interactions with his Christian fan base during which he talks about a balance of family and faith.”

Jeremy Lange, vice president of marketing and partnerships for Leavine Family Racing, commented, “We’re proud to bring another Fortune 500 company into NASCAR and provide Thrivent Financial with a unique marketing opportunity through our race team. I’m excited about the growth we’ve seen throughout our entire organization this season and believe the addition of Thrivent is another key element to continued success.”

Stacey added, “NASCAR is a great platform to showcase how our financial experience and counsel can help members strengthen their families and the Christian communities where they live, work and worship.”

McDowell, a 29-year-old driver from Glendale, Ariz., started his racing career in the World Karting Association and secured his first Sprint Cup Series start in 2008.

“I’ve been impressed with the passion and growth of our team this year and Thrivent Financial is a great addition to the family,” said McDowell. “I personally believe in Thrivent’s mission to support Christians in being wise with money and living generously, and look forward to having their support for the remainder of the race season.”
