Greg Biffle drove his No. 16 3M Safety Ford to a 13th-place finish Sunday afternoon at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Biffle started 19thand battled rear grip throughout the race. The team made big chassis adjustments throughout the event and late-race pit strategy placed Biffle in position to earn a top-15 finish.
Biffle had his hands full with an extremely loose No. 16 3M Safety Ford in the opening laps of the Brickyard 400. NASCAR displayed a competition caution on lap 20 since overnight storms had washed rubber off the track, allowing the team their first opportunity for chassis adjustments.
As the race went on the 3M Pit Bulls took big swings on pit stops and towards the end found grip that Biffle had been looking for. The final caution of the day came out with just 20 laps remaining. Biffle took the gamble and decided not to pit, restarting in the top 10. Fresher tires prevailed, but the strategy paid off with a 13th-place finish for Biffle at the Brickyard.
