NSCS: Qualifying Preview Kansas

Sprint Cup Series qualifying will take place later on this afternoon for Sunday’s 13th annual Hollywood Casino 400. 43 drivers will attempt to make the field for Sunday’s race as no drivers will go home.

Last April, Matt Kenseth won the pole after posting a fast lap of 28.144 seconds, 191.864 mph. Kenseth then went on to win the race after nearly passed by hard charging Kasey Kahne. Matt will go out in the eleventh place later on today.

Last weeks pole sitter Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will try to go out and win the pole this afternoon for the second week in a row. Earnhardt, Jr. will go out seventh today in the qualifying order. Dale qualified 26th last April at Kansas.

Kevin Harvick ran the fastest lap earlier in the first practice session, and will try to back that up with a pole run. Harvick will have an advantage with a late qualifying run as he will go out 28th in the session.
