Clint Bowyer Pulling Double Duty at Kansas Speedway

Clint Bowyer will be especially busy when he returns to his home track June 3 – 5, circling the tri-oval more than 430 times in two different series races over the weekend. The Kansan will drive the No. 2 truck in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, June 4, followed by his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series duties in the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, June 5.

Bowyer, who made a name for himself driving dirt-track cars in the Midwest, now has doubled his chances for catching his elusive first victory in his home state. To date, Bowyer’s best Kansas finish is second, but that could all change June 4 and 5 as Bowyer seeks to become only the second driver in the track’s history to sweep a weekend (Joe Nemechek, 2004).

“I’m really excited about running not one, but two events at my home track next month,” said Bowyer. “We have enjoyed success in both the trucks and Sprint Cup Series this season and a win is right around the corner. To be able to win in front of the hometown crowd and celebrate a win in victory lane at Kansas Speedway would be great.”

This will be Bowyer’s first time in a truck at Kansas Speedway. If he is victorious in the event, he would become the 11th winner in as many races in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250.
