Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying at Dover International Speedway was canceled due to rain. NASCAR set the starting line-up according to the Rule Book slating Corey LaJoie in the 33rd position in the Factor One Source Fast Pharmacy No. 72 to start the Gander Outdoors 400
 
Lap 46: Running 32, LaJoie had fallen a lap down from the leader. He relayed he had no turn and no rear lateral.
 
Lap 63: LaJoie had lost another lap to the leader. Running 31st, two laps down he radioed the front lacked turn and the rear was sideways
 
Lap 70: LaJoie came to pit under green flag for four tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment. NASCAR issued an uncontrolled tire penalty to the No. 72 team. LaJoie was required to make a pit road pass through

Caution Lap 340 (debris): Crew Chief Frank Kerr kept LaJoie out on track to take the wave around and requested he save fuel
 
Caution Lap 398 (incident): A multi-vehicle accident stopped the field under red flag to clear the track of debris. LaJoie sustained minimal damage to the left rear quarter panel. He came to pit when the red flag was lifted and the field resumed under caution. The No. 72 pit crew cleared the sheet metal from making contact with the tire. LaJoie rejoined the field
