Whitt leaves New Hampshire with another top-30 finish

Cole Whitt and the No. 26 TapouT Muscle Recovery Toyota Camry team finished 28th on Sunday afternoon.  Despite struggling to get his car to navigate the tight turns at the flat one-mile track, Whitt was able to hold on for his 13th top-30 finish of the 2014 season.

In his very first Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Whitt took the green flag in the 35th position.  Early in the race, Whitt fought an ill-handling racecar that was a combination of loose on entry and exit, and tight in the center.  Despite the challenge, Whitt continued to race hard to maintain his position on the one-mile oval.

Moving into the top-30 prior to lap 75, Whitt’s TapouT Muscle Recovery team made a series of chassis and air pressure adjustments during each pit stop to slowly improve the handling of their Toyota Camry. Despite the balance of his racecar, the Sunoco rookie contender was able to maintain control and bring home his No. 26 machine without any damage.  By the time the checkered flag waved, Whitt was scored in the 28th position.

“I’m happy that we were able to bring home another solid top-30 finish today with our TapouT Muscle Recovery Toyota Camry,” commented Whitt.  “We had a big weekend with a new partner showcased on our car, so I’m happy that we were able to have a clean race and come home with a good finish.  It was really tough to get just the right balance on your car this weekend, but we definitely improved throughout the weekend and certainly during the race.  As always, I’m grateful for all the work of my team and all the hours they put in to building and preparing our Toyota.”
