MDM Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Review: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) made its annual trip across the border to Canada with road course specialist Brian Wong. The Newport Beach, Calif., native drove the No. 99 MDM Motorsports entry to a solid 12th-place finish in his second career NCWTS start.

Saturday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 proved to be one of the most entertaining events of the season. Wong, coming off a solid top-15 run at Road America in the ARCA Racing Series event on Aug. 27, was looking for another solid run in the NCWTS. He qualified 15th and raced in the top-15 for a majority of the event. When the race went green, he was able to move into the top-10. As the race played out, Wong found himself solidly in the top-15. He was able to hang on and finish 12th.

“Overall it was another solid weekend,” Wong said. “This MDM bunch gave me a solid race truck. These are tough races with lots of competition. We fought a loose race truck just like a lot of other guys, and that prevented us from really getting up into the thick of it. I would love to do some more racing with MDM Motorsports. Hopefully we are able to put that together.”

Next up for the NCWTS is a trip to Chicagoland (Ill.) Speedway on Friday, Sept. 15.
