Ken Butler III and SR2 Motorsports Head to Legendary IMS

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a very special place in the racing world and every racers dream is to compete at the legendary facility.  Together Ken Butler III and his SR2 Motorsports team share that same dream and head to the world’s largest spectator sporting facility for the NASCAR Nationwide Series second ever visit to the 2.5-mile oval.  Butler will pilot the team’s No. 24 Toyota in the running of the Nationwide 250 on Saturday afternoon.

“Like every other racer I grew up watching the Indianapolis 500 and am really in awe of the track,” stated Butler.  “The first race I ever went to was the Brickyard 400 with my dad when I was 12 years old.  Now I am racing there and it is one of the coolest things in my racing career.  This SR2 team continues to work hard to put together competitive cars and it is a joy each and every time to climb behind the wheel of one of their Toyotas.  I think it will be crucial for us to maximize our track time during the practice sessions so I get comfortable with the track and we get a good handle on the car.  I am beyond excited and look forward to a great weekend in Indianapolis.”

KB3 will be making his fifth NASCAR Nationwide Series start of the season on Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.   The start will also mark his 25th career start in NASCAR’s top three series.

Butler and SR2 Motorsports will be joined by a group of supporting sponsors led by M&W Transportation.  Founded by Jim McFarlin in 1973 with only two trucks, today M&W Transportation remains a family-owned and operated company which has grown to operate over 90 power units and 400 trailers with over 400,000 square feet in warehouse space.

Joining M&W will be longtime SR2 sponsor SupportMilitary.org, America’s validation authority for organizations supporting our military. Support Military Foundation is charged to provide America with a gateway to verified organizations.

And rounding out the sponsor list for Indianapolis is the Caribbean Cove Hotel & Conference Center located in Indianapolis.  The hotel will be hosting the SR2 Motorsports team during their stay in Indianapolis this week. KB3 will be making an appearance at the hotel from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday with SR2 Motorsports teammate Blake Koch appearing from 6:00-7:00.  The event is open to the public.

The running of the Nationwide 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway begins at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 27, 2013.  The race can be viewed LIVE nationally on ESPN and heard on Sirius NASCAR Radio 90.
