Miguel Paludo NCWTS Preview: Homestead-Miami Speedway

Going Home…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) heads to Florida, the state where the 2013 season began 10 months ago, for the final race of the year at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Miguel Paludo has three previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval, with his best finish of fifth coming in the 2012 season finale.

Wrapping Up…As the 2013 season comes to a close, Paludo and the No. 32 NCWTS team have a lot to be proud of. This season has been the best of Paludo’s career, with the Brazilian earning one pole, four top fives, 11 top 10s and 72 laps led. Paludo has also earned the best average start (9.6) and average finish (12.7) of his career.

Save The Date…The Turner Scott Motorsports teams will arrive in Miami on Thursday, November 14, which is known internationally as World Diabetes Day, the primary global awareness campaign of the diabetes community. World Diabetes Day is held annually on November 14th and was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in response to the alarming rise of diabetes around the world. While the campaign lasts the entire year, the day itself marks the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best, first conceived the idea which led to the discovery of insulin in 1922.

Last Chance To Vote…The polls are still open for the 2013 NCWTS Most Popular Driver fan vote. Fans can vote once a day from each device: laptop, desktop, tablet, smart phone, etc. Be sure to place your vote for Paludo every day from now until November 15 at www.nascar.com/ncwtsmpd.

This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 AccuDoc Solutions team will unload chassis TSM-600 this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. TSM-600 most recently earned an eighth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway on November 1. This will be the intermediate truck’s eighth race of the season.

Watch And Listen…The Ford EcoBoost 200 can be seen live on Friday, November 15 with pre-race coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. EST on FOX Sports 1. The race can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Previous Race Recap…Paludo started the weekend strong at Phoenix International Raceway, running in the top 10 in both practice sessions and showing the promise to visit victory lane at a track known for first-time winners. Unfortunately, bad luck struck the No. 32 AccuDoc Solutions team early when Paludo blew a tire on lap 34, which sent him into the wall and relegated him to a 31st-place finish in the penultimate race of the 2013 NCWTS season.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Homestead-Miami Speedway

“Homestead is truly one of my favorite tracks; it’s a place that I’ve run well in the past, and it’s in a city I really enjoy visiting. I’m hoping that we can close out the season strong there, just like we did last season. This year has been a challenge; I’ve run better than I’ve ever run in the past, but it’s almost more frustrating to be so close to winning so many times and just not close the deal. I am so proud of everyone on my team and I’m very appreciative to everyone at Turner Scott Motorsports. My guys have done a heck of a job, and there’s nothing I want more than to get them into victory lane where they belong.”
