Jason White, No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford, Las Vegas Motor Speedway Preview

Jason White on Las Vegas:  “Las Vegas is a track I enjoy and am confident I can run well at.  I had one of my best career finishes at the track in the 2009 race and that adds to my confidence level anytime we head there.  Like a lot of these tracks, the Las Vegas track has some character with the bumps in Turns 1 & 2.  The track is fast and horsepower and handling are keys to success.  We have tremendous engines from Roush Yates and if we can get a good balance on our truck we will be in for a strong run.”

“Vegas is a great town and the track has done an awesome job of taking the atmosphere of the city and adding it to the track.  The fans are great and the trucks put on a great show.”

Jason at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:This will mark Jason’s sixth career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  His best finish was third during the 2009 season after starting in the same position.  He has an average starting position of 19.8 and an average finish of 15.0.

Race Rewind:  Just when you think you have seen everything in the sport of NASCAR, something happens to show you that’s just not the case. Jason White and his No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford found that out firsthand on Friday night after experiencing a very rare failure.  White started the 134-lap event from the 19th position and the early portion of the event was used by the GunBroker.com team to make some key adjustments on pit stops and position themselves at the front of the field with some strategy.   With the strategy in place, Jason was patiently working his way to the finish with a top-10 in sight when disaster struck on lap 105.  A rare hub assembly failure on the right front of the No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford shot White into the wall coming off Turn 2.  The result was significant damage and an unfortunate 20th-place finish.

The disappointing 20th-place finish dropped White to 12th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – a mere 5 points out of the tenth position.

“Sniper” Sets Sights on Las Vegas: The GunBroker.com team will be bringing the truck they nicknamed “Sniper” to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this week.  In honor of the team’s sponsor, GunBroker.com, the GB Racing team uses gun and shooting themed names for most of their trucks – thus the name “Sniper”.   This will be the trucks third race of the season after finishing second last time out in Michigan and tenth earlier this season at Martinsville

Burn Out – Bowl Off: Jason White and his GunBroker.com team will participate in the 5th Annual Burn-Out Bowl-Off to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities on Thursday night, September 27th. The event, hosted by Brendan Gaughan and the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, is an annual event the NCWTS garage looks forward to every year.

Meet Jason: Jason White will join other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers for an autograph session in the Neon Garage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday.  Come see Jason and the other stars of the series before they take to the track for qualifying for the Smith’s 350 at 8:35 p.m.
