Confidence in Familiarity: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rolls into Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend for the Smith’s 350 with Parker Kligerman on the heels of his second runner-up finish since joining Red Horse Racing just five races ago. Kligerman’s No. 7 Red Horse Racing team, led by crew chief Chad Kendrick, has prepared the same Toyota Tundra chassis they competed with at Iowa Speedway. Kligerman captured his first career pole after setting a new track record during qualifying, and had the field covered for the majority of the weekend until a tire failure halted their chances of victory. Though the two tracks have their differences, Kligerman is confident in the speed and comfort he feels with the Tundra they’ve chosen.
“Any time you have a truck you’ve had a lot of success with, no matter where it was that you had the success, you feel like it’s a truck that can find its way to excel at any type of race track,” Kligerman explained.
“Obviously Iowa is a little bit different than Vegas; you have to lift and brake at Iowa where Vegas is wide enough you can pretty much go wide open. But I think any time you show the speed in a truck like we did with this Tundra at Iowa, you have confidence it works that you can go out and win with it. I know this team is capable of doing just that this weekend.”
Red Horse Airborne: The Red Horse Racing crew will visit Nellis Air Force Base on Thursday afternoon before heading to the track for this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition. The visit will include a special meet and greet, along with demolition and heavy equipment demonstrations with the 820th Red Horse Airborne team that is based out of the Nellis Air Force Base.
Appearing in Las Vegas: Kligerman will participate in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series autograph session on Friday, September 28 from 6-7:00 PM prior to qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Previous Race Recap: The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rolled into Kentucky Speedway last Friday for the second time this season, with Red Horse Racing driver Parker Kligerman carrying momentum from two top-five finishes at intermediate tracks since joining the organization four races ago. Kligerman’s affinity for and success at the 1.5-mile tracks on the circuit helped him utilize the speed in his No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra, overcoming a spin just past halfway to claim a second place finish in the Kentucky 201.
Chassis History: The No. 7 Red Horse Racing team has elected to bring chassis number 004 to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. Kligerman most recently wheeled this Tundra to his first career pole at Iowa Speedway by setting a new track record, and led a race-high 107 laps before a right rear tire failure caused him to lose several laps.

What are the characteristics of Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
“Las Vegas is one of the fastest intermediate tracks we go to. It has a ton of grip; turns 1&2 are really high banked, 3&4 are a little flatter, but most of the time in the truck it’s mostly flat out especially in the cooler temperatures at night. It’s one of my favorites because there’s definitely room to move around and overall it provides a different type of racing and they’ve done a good job of being different from the other intermediate tracks.”
What are your feelings about luck?
“I heard a quote once from James Hunt, a Formula one driver that said “I don’t believe in luck, it only brings bad luck.” And because of that I believe you make your own luck. I think the things you do, the way you treat people and handle yourself in life can alter your luck and the way things go in your life. I’m not a big fan of it; I don’t like to use it as an excuse for when things are going wrong. I think there’s always a way to fix things and avoid the bad things.”
