Spencer Gallagher Bounces Back For A Top-10 Finish at Kansas Speedway

Spencer Gallagher, driver of the No. 23 Alamo Rent-A-Car Chevrolet Silverado, brought home a tenth-place result in the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway on Friday night. The Las Vegas Nev., native has recorded a top-10 finish in three out of four races this 2016 season, the most consistent start in his career.

Gallagher started from the back of the field after hitting the wall in the first round of qualifying earlier in the day. As the caution clock expired on lap 45, Gallagher reported to crew chief Jeff Hensley that he was experiencing a tight-handling condition. Hensley called Gallagher to pit road for four tires, fuel and air pressure and track bar adjustments. The No. 23 Alamo Rent-A-Car Chevrolet restarted from the 12th position on lap 48. Gallagher battled his way up to the second position on lap 77 and maintained top-10 position before suffering a flat right front tire on lap 128. After pitting multiple times to ensure there were no tire rubs, Gallagher had to restart from the back of the field.

Gallagher climbed his way through the field and reached the 16th position when a caution occurred on lap 164. A green-white-checkered finish resulted in Gallagher bringing home his third top-10 finish of the 2016 season.

Spencer Gallagher Quote:
“We had one roller coaster of a ride today, but nether nevertheless, I am proud of this team and all of their hard work. A top-10 is great considering we were battling handling issues all day and had to drive through the field a couple of times. We thought that the track would free up a lot by the end of the race but turns out it didn’t. I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel in Dover.”
